This regulation has been implemented in Australia and New Zealand since 2004. Ccountries such as China, USA, Canada and EU countries implemented this regulation between June 2004 and January 2005.

The Department of Agriculture is responsible for coordinating and regulating the implementation of ISPM 15 in Sarawak.

Compliance checked by Department of Agriculture Sarawak includes monitoring certification, marking systems and establishment of inspection procedures, registration or accreditation and auditing of commercial companies.

Marking

All treated WPM should be marked according to the specified international standard. The marking should be permanent and stickers are not allowed.

Implementation Procedure

|

This regulation was implemented on 1st of June 2004 for export only. The full implementation of ISPM 15 for both export and import was on 1st of July 2010.
Requirements:
i. Imported wood packaging materials (WPM) to be constructed from debarked wood. ii. All WPM to be treated either by Heat Treatment or Fumigation. iii.Heat Treatment and Fumigation Providers must be accredited by Plant Quarantine, Department Of Agriculture.

Fumigators and heat treatment providers interested to participate should register with the Department of Agriculture.
|
