Movement of Agriculture Products in Sarawak through Brunei Darusalam

The transportation of all agricultural products, including pesticides and fertilisers, from Miri to Limbang/Lawas and vice versa via Brunei Darusalam necessitates the issuance of a Phytosanitary Certificate (PC) and Plant-In-Transit Letter from the Department of Agriculture Sarawak.

To apply for the approval of the transportation through Brunei Darusalam, applicants must complete Borang PQS.9, which can be obtained at various locations, including ICQS Mengkalap, ICQS Tedungan, ICQS Pandaruan, ICQS Sg. Tujoh, Pejabat Biosekuriti Tumbuhan & Kuarantin (BTK) Lawas and Pejabat BTK Limbang. Travelers must complete Borang PQS.9, specifying the agricultural products being transported to/from the destination.

Once the application is submitted, the consignment will be verified and inspected by Plant Quarantine Inspectors. Following this, the applicable inspection fees, as determined by the inspectors, must be paid. After completing these steps, a Plant-In-Transit letter for Brunei Darussalam and a Phytosanitary Certificate will be issued by the Plant Quarantine Inspectors. This procedure is part of the SOP for Plant-in-Transit services through Brunei Darussalam, effective February 2025.

This requirement also extends to individuals utilising this route for commuting purposes between Limbang/Lawas and Miri, whether by commercial, personal or government vehicles. Strict compliance with these procedures is essential to prevent any unwarranted delays or potential refusal of entry at Brunei Darusalam checkpoints.
