HPPN 2012 focus


FOCUS

1. To enhance the economy of the target groups as a result of the huge market potential for agriculture and aquaculture products in Labuan, Sabah and Brunei.
2. To introduce many of the local products including ‘tahai’ and livestock based food products to a higher level and in the process, boost the local economy.
3. To provide ample opportunities to farmers, breeders and fishermen to do good business in marketing their agricultural produce and products in line with the government’s desire to eradicate poverty by 2020.

OBJECTIVES:

  • to give recognition and acknowledgement to farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen communities who have contributed their efforts towards the country's development especially in the production and supply of food and raw materials.
  • to choose and introduce the successful entrepreneur in their economic and social activities especially in the food production as an example and model to their community.
  • to promote the food products and projects which were successfully implemented and produced by the farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen entrepreneur especially for the projects which were under the government's assistance.
  • to introduce and promote new products, technologies and the latest practices and findings in food production produced by research agencies.
  • to involve the farmers, livestock breeders and fishermen communities in the contribution of ideas, energy and financial towards the establishment of the food industry in Sarawak.
