COMMON NAME : Red / Black Gingerwort
   
LOCAL NAME : Tepus (M, Bid, Ib.), Tubuh tana (Kel.)
     
PREPARATION : Fruits and young shoots are eaten as vegetable or cook with chicken dish.
   
TRADITIONAL USES : Young shoots are taken to cure beri-beri. For perfume making in olden days. Fiber from the skin of the stem formerly used to make small baskets, mats and for tying.
