AgriCOP at Rh Usan Nyambang, Lengain Sebetan Saratok

AGRICOP AT RH USAN NYAMBANG, LENGAIN SEBETAN SARATOK.
A total of 117 participants from 14 longhouses participated in AgriCOP at Rh Usan Nyambang, Lengain Sebetan Saratok on Tuesday organized by Betong Divisional Agriculture Office, Department of Agriculture Sarawak (DOA).

The longhouses involved are Rh. Usan Nyambang Lengain, Rh Johnny ak Naga Bukit Bangkit Kerupok, Rh. Dana Kalimbang Kerupok, Rh. Julin Abas, Batu 4 Sebetan, Rh Ajong Blabot Tembawai Pok, Rh. Linggir Anyum Batu 3 Jalan Roban Lama, Rh.Martha Beriak Tinting Kumpang, Rh Thomas Malis Blabut Batu 4 Jalan Roban Lama, Rh Noel Tengga Semurin Asal Sebetan, Rh Umbol Chamagat Semurin Baru, Rh Dennis Ngelambai Tinting Remat Sg. Klampai, Rh Jenalius Unchie Anthony Sg. Brangan Panjai, Rh Sidah Peng Sg. Brangan Sebetan and Rh Thomas Sigat Mangka Sg. Brangan Babas Mali.

The ceremony of AgriCOP was officiated by Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom; Minister of Food Industry, Commodities and Regional Development of Sarawak (M-FICORD).
The objective of the AgriCOP program is to provide direct exposure to the development of agriculture and agricultural technology to the target group, namely farmers or breeders through exhibitions or briefings.
One of the objectives of this program is to provide an opportunity for DOA staff to meet face-to-face with farmers and entrepreneurs at the village and longhouse levels.

The Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) Betong and the Police Di Raja Malaysia (PDRM) Betong Division were also invited to give talks in this program.

Dr Rundi said, he hopes that programs like this will indirectly improve the knowledge, awareness and skills of the target group (farmers and breeders) in the agricultural industry sector where it helps to increase production and increase the quality of agricultural products.
The "Mock Cheque" of the Lengain siling farm road upgrade project of RM500,000 through the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) was also handed over by Dr Rundi to Rh Usan which is currently in the procurement process and is expected to be implemented and completed in May 2023.

Before concluding his speech, he then donated RM20,000 to JKKK Rh Usan Nyambang for them to carry out activities in their longhouse.
Also in attendance, Sarawak Premier's Advisor (Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development) Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, M-FICORD Deputy Minister YB Tuan Maclaine @ Martin Ben, Acting Permanent Secretary Dr. Gluma Saban, Director of Agriculture Sarawak (DOA) Mr. Dominic Anak Chunggat, Director of Department of Veterinary Services Sarawak (DVS) Dr. Adrian Susil Ambud, Sarawak Land Development Board (SLDB) General Manager, Mr. Denis Antas, Betong Division Resident, Mr. Richard Michael Abunawas and State Assembly Member N.39 Krian, Mr. Friday Anak Belik.
