LOCAL NAME : Lengkuas
     
PREPARATION : Rhizome may be used fresh or dried. Slices of fresh rhizome are used in nasi goreng with vegetables and meat.
     
TRADITIONAL USES : Galangal is used to treat nausea, stomach problems and catarrh.
It has antibacterial properties.
