SIBU: Black Soldier Fly (BSF) as an alternative feed for animals needs to be expanded to reduce the dependence of farmers on importing raw materials such as corn, grain and so on.
Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development of Sarawak Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said that the dependence of farmers on raw materials from abroad resulted in the market price of chicken, pork and so on increasing.
"Now we need a combination of BSF to add amino acids and so on, so that we can use them and I think we have a good future through BSF agriculture," he told reporters after visiting the BSF Mega Factory in Rantau Panjang.
